Maoist chairman vows to come up with 'consensus strategy' if Aug 2 run-off fails
Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Saturday said his party would come up with a consensus strategy if he fails to get elected for the Prime Minister in the second run-off slated for August 2.
"The country will elect the 34th PM on August 2," Dahal told reporters after a meeting with speaker Subas Nemwang at the latter's office in Singha Durbar, "If we fail, our party will bring new strategy for making a consensus government."
The Maoist chairman also said the government, provided the Aug 2 run-off elects new PM, would present a clear time-frame for integration of Maoist combatants within three months.
During the meeting with UCPN (M) chairman, Nemwang expressed worry over the successive failure of the prime ministerial election. Saying that all the parties in the CA need to be serious, Nemwang told Dahal that the deadlock should not prolong.
In response, Dahal assured the speaker that the current standoff would be over within a few weeks time. nepalnews.com
