Govt will survive its full term, claims FM Bhattarai

Acting Prime Minister and Finance Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has claimed that the Maoist-led government would survive its full term.

Speaking at a seminar on challenges of handicraft exports, Dr Bhattarai asked not to believe in rumours that the new government would be removed within the next three months.

He also accused "elements defeated in the elections" of working hard to make the Maoist-led government a failure. He said those obstructing the road to 'New Nepal' would be sidelined.

Speaking to reporters after the programme Bhattarai said the Maoists had no problems with the UML regarding power-sharing.

Addressing the seminar, Dr. Bhattrai said the government would bring new budget by mid-September. "The budget will adopt the policy of public-private partnership giving central role to the private sector in investment and business," he added. nepalnews.com ps Aug 25 08
